AVCF Employee Staff Council administers a confidential employee assistance fund for qualifying hardship requests. Each application is reviewed by a small committee with attention to urgency, documentation, and the employee’s circumstances—not their job title or department.
What the fund covers
Typical grants support one-time needs such as:
- Medical bills not fully covered by insurance
- Emergency housing or utility costs
- Essential travel related to family health crises
- Unexpected caregiving expenses

We know that asking for help can feel difficult. Our process minimizes red tape, protects privacy, and pairs financial support with referrals to benefits navigation when appropriate. Principal Officer Matthew Gomez oversees stewardship of the fund to ensure resources are used in line with our exempt purpose.
